How to choose an Apple Watch case
Measure the case, not the wrist. Apple Watch sizing refers to the watch body in millimetres — 38, 40, 41, 42, 44 or 45mm — and it is printed on the back of the watch. Series generations also differ in body shape, so both numbers matter.
Case and band are one piece here. Rather than a bumper you add to an existing strap, these are integrated case-and-band sets. That removes the gap at the lug where a separate case and strap meet, which is where grit collects and where a watch is most often knocked loose.
Rugged or waterproof. Rugged sets are built around impact and abrasion. Waterproof sets seal the watch body as well. If you swim, dive or work around water, choose the sealed option.

What size Apple Watch do I have?
The size in millimetres is printed on the back of the watch body. Our find my model guide walks through finding it, along with the series generation, which also affects fit.
Can I use my own strap with these?
These are integrated case-and-band sets rather than bumpers, so the band is part of the case. That is deliberate — it removes the lug gap where a separate case and strap meet.
Will a Series 6 case fit a Series 9?
Not necessarily. Body shape changes between generations even at the same millimetre size, so check the series as well as the size.
